Poached Quince (Ayva Tatlısı)

Merhaba! This is one of the classics of Turkish Cuisine, it is a dessert served with heavy cream or  plain like this. It has a small tip so it can easily turn to be this lovely color and although its called dessert it is healthy😉

Ingredients (for 4 people)

4 quinces

2 sticks cinnamon

1 cup water

8 tbsp white sugar

Peel the quinces and cut in half ,using with a spoon tribe the middle part. Wash them and put them in a shallow pot, sprinkle one tablespoon of sugar to each half, add cinnamon sticks and use warm water for the bottom of the pot. Close the lid and the heat must be as low as possible. So this is the tip, they shall be poach with very low heat for 1 hour 45 minutes. Never open the lid if you are a curious person use a glass lid 😃 Because when you open the lid and let the steam out you won’ t get this lovely color. Afiyet Olsun!
